According to a report from JP Morgan, quantitative investing based on computer formulas and trading by machines directly are now dominating the US equity market. It is estimated that "fundamental discretionary traders" account for only about 10% of trading volume in US stocks, while passive and quantitative investing accounts for about 60%. This trend along with the emergence of artificial intelligence might just become the future for the Asian markets including that in Hong Kong.
